Elba House

 

SECCHETTO, ITALY

The house attempts to achieve the purest possible form for a summer home set into the rocky hill on the south side of the island overlooking Seccheto and the Tyrrhenian Sea.

 

Its dominant feature is an open air canopied piazza that serves as the main living space. The piazza is shielded by a three story volume facing south consisting of a loggia on the main level, bedrooms above and studios below.
